SABAL

Introduction
USAID funded SABAL Sustainable Action for Resilience and Food Security (2014-2019) initially started in 6 districts of Nepal: Makwanpur, Khotang, Ramechhap, Sindhuli, Udayapur and Okhaldhunga by Save the Children together with its implementing partners with the aim of making the targeted group of people more resilient and food secured. After the devastating earthquake on 25th April and 12th May 2015 with its subsequent aftershocks, SABAL was extended to 5 additional most earthquake affected districts: Dolakha, Nuwakot, Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchok and Rasuwa in order to respond to the disaster as well as recover from the shocks. Rural Development Tuki Association (RDTA) is the implementing partner organization of SABAL program in 20 VDCs of Dolakha district namely; Tamchet dudhpokari, Bhusapheda, Katakuti, Magapauwa, Pawati, Lakuridanada, Fasku, Sailungesor, Aalampu, Lamabagar, Ghyangsukathokar, Bhedpu, Marbu, Chankhu, Suri, Jhyanku, Khaare, Orang, Bulung, and Dandakharka . There are three major components of SABAL: Livelihood, Health and Nutrition and Disaster Risk Reduction/Climate Change Adaptation (DRR/CCA). Among them RDTA is going to work in the first and the latter components while the second component is going to be covered by Suaahara program.
